Starting from the western side of the mountain, it takes you through lush rainforest, expansive moorlands and the breathtaking Shira Plateau — with excellent acclimatization built into every step. Here's exactly what your 9 nights on Kilimanjaro look like

DAY 1 — Arrival in Tanzania

Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to Arusha where you'll meet your climbing team for a briefing. Rest and prepare for the adventure ahead. Excitement and anticipation starts here.

DAY 2 — Arusha to Big Tree Camp

Elevation: 2,100m to 2,780m | Walking time: 3-4 hours

Accommodation: Camping at Big Tree Camp

A scenic drive to Londorossi Gate for registration, then your trek begins through dense green rainforest surrounded by towering trees and vibrant wildlife. Tranquil and green

DAY 3 — Big Tree Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Elevation: 2,780m to 3,610m | Walking time: 5-6 hours

Accommodation: Camping at Shira 1 Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Leaving the rainforest you'll ascend into the heather and moorland zone. The landscape opens up revealing stunning views and unique vegetation like giant heathers and lobelias. Shira 1 Camp sits on an ancient volcanic caldera. Open and expansive.

DAY 4 — Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Elevation: 3,610m to 3,850m | Walking time: 4-5 hours

Accommodation: Camping at Shira 2 Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

A gentle hike across the Shira Plateau with stunning views of Mount Meru and the Great Rift Valley. Shira 2 Camp provides an excellent spot for acclimatization. Scenic and serene.

DAY 5 — Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

Elevation: 3,850m to 3,960m via 4,630m at Lava Tower | Walking time: 6-8 hours

Accommodation: Camping at Barranco Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

A critical acclimatization day. You'll ascend to Lava Tower at 4,630m before descending to Barranco Camp. The climb to Lava Tower is challenging but provides essential acclimatization benefits. Challenging and rewarding.

DAY 6 — Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Elevation: 3,960m to 4,035m | Walking time: 4-5 hours

Accommodation: Camping at Karanga Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

The day starts with the famous Barranco Wall climb, one of the most memorable moments of the trek. After conquering the wall you'll continue along undulating terrain with spectacular views. Adventurous and scenic.

DAY 7 — Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Elevation: 4,035m to 4,640m | Walking time: 3-4 hours

Accommodation: Camping at Barafu Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

A steady ascent through the alpine desert brings you to Barafu Camp. The environment is stark and windswept with sparse vegetation. Early dinner and an early bedtime, your midnight summit attempt begins tonight. Preparation and anticipation.

DAY 8 — Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Elevation: 4,640m to 5,895m back down to 3,100m | Walking time: 10-14 hours

Accommodation: Camping at Mweka Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

The final ascent begins at midnight. A challenging climb to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895m. Reaching the summit at dawn offers breathtaking views and an indescribable sense of achievement. After celebrating you'll descend to Mweka Camp for a well earned rest. Challenging and triumphant.

DAY 9 — Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate — Transfer to Arusha

Elevation: 3,100m to 1,650m | Walking time: 3-4 hours

Accommodation: Hotel in Arusha

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Special Celebration Dinner

After breakfast descend through the lush forest zone to Mweka Gate accompanied by the sounds of birds and wildlife. Upon arrival receive your official Uhuru Peak summit certificate, a moment worth savouring. Transfer back to Arusha for a special celebration dinner with your guide team. Relaxed and celebratory.
